Mike Surette

To get rid of all the formalities first: I was born in PEI, a Military brat that travelled throughout Canada and Germany. My father’s family’s roots are from the Wedgeport, NS area while my mother’s family is from Summerside, PE. I worked in radio in Summerside for 24 years before trying a few other things.

After meeting my future wife (Jen), I moved to the Valley…as my father always told me…there are only 2 things you need to know about your wife to be…what does her Mother look like because there’s a good chance of her following in her footsteps. The other thing to know…where is she from…because that, my son, is where you will live and/or retire!

I’m a member of the Kentville Volunteer Fire Dept. and was also a 17 year member of the Summerside Volunteer Fire Dept. Stop Drop and Roll!

I live for barbecuing in the summer (or any time of the year…it never gets put away for the winter) and I’d love to hear about your special recipes for the grill (especially if beer is an ingredient).
